Composite Materials
This basic course on Composite Materials presents mainly the mechanical behavior of othotropic and anisotropic structural elements made from fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP). The main objective of this course is the analysis of layers and layered plates from FRP, the experimental determination of their mechanic properties, failure criteria as well as topics related to the reduction of strength due to holes and notches, the viscoelastic behavior, ageing, lassitude, detachment of layers due to delamination failure and hygrothermal behavior of composite materials.
