Brief CV:
Konstantina Koulatsou enrolled in the Civil Engineering School at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2002 following stringent entrance exams. She carried out her diploma thesis on “Comparison of analytical and numerical solutions and code predictions for flexural-torsional buckling of steel beams” at the Institute of Steel Structures under the supervision of Professor Ch. Gantes. She completed her studies and received the Diploma of Civil Engineering in 2007. Then, she attended the Post-Graduate Program “Analysis and design of earthquake resistant structures” at NTUA. Her post-graduate thesis was on “Special issues investigation of a cable-suspended roof via non-Linear finite element analyses”, under the supervision of Professor Ch. Gantes, and she received the MSc Diploma in Structural Engineering in 2009. Since 2012, she is a Ph.D. candidate at NTUA with the topic of her dissertation being “Fatigue analysis of connections in wind turbine towers”, under the supervision of Professor Ch. Gantes. Since late 2007, when she received her Civil Engineering Diploma, she is working as a freelance civil engineer, mainly on design of steel structures.
Research:
Her Ph.D. thesis is part of the research program: “AIOLOS – Resolution of Complex Problems in the Analysis of ''Next Generation'' Wind Turbine Towers”, Thalis program funded by the Greek Secretariat of Research and Technology, Prof. Ε. Sapountzakis as P.I. (2012-2015).
