The subject of his Diploma Thesis was “Design of a cable-stayed bridge on Poseidon Avenue” under the supervision of Prof. I. Vayas. He successfully completed his studies in March 2015 and obtained his Diploma in Civil Engineering. He then attended the postgraduate program «Analysis and Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures». His postgraduate thesis “Design of steel building with innovative anti-seismic systems FUSEIS” was completed in October 2017 under the supervision of prof. I. Vayas. He received the Master of Science degree in 2017. He is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Steel Structure of the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) from 2016. His PhD dissertation is entitled "Operations in existing buildings using innovative steel systems of anti-seismic protection".
Research:
Participation in the research programme partly funded by the E.U and RFCS, titled INNOSEIS «VALORIZATION OF INNOVATIVE ANTI-SEISMIC DEVICES». In the context of this programme valorization actions for 12 innovative anti-seismic devices were undertaken. The general objective was the production of information documents, design recommendations of the innovative systems as well as a methodological procedure to determine q-factors. Finally, seminars and workshops were organized in large parts of Europe and non-European Mediterranean countries with high seismicity activity to promote technologies and codes developed in Europe. http://innoseis.ntua.gr/ Participation in the EU research program and the RFCS organization EQUALJOINTS-PLUS: "VALORIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE FOR EUROPEAN PRE-QUALIFIED STEEL JOINTS", the purpose of which is to exploit and disseminate the knowledge that has developed in Europe over the past few years on steel joints through conferences and seminars, information brochures, design guides, development of appropriate software for calculating the joint’s inelastic response, etc.
