Brief CV:
Zacharias Fasoulakis was born and grown in Kroussonas of Heraklion. He received his Diploma in Civil Engineering at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2010. Subsequently, he continued his studies in Civil Engineering through the postgraduate program “Analysis and Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures” at NTUA. His diploma theses, regarding linear and non-linear stability analysis of frames with varying stiffness columns, were conducted under the supervision of Prof. G. Ioannidis and Lect. Τ. Avraam. Hitherto he works as a Consultant Civil Engineer while his research focuses on the stability of energy transmission lattice towers.
Research:
His research in the context of the dissertation, with Prof. I. Raftoyiannis as a supervisor, includes the investigation of the behaviour of energy transmission lattice towers from bolted angle members with initial imperfections.
Selected Publications:
- Z. Fasoulakis, I. Raftoyiannis and T. Avraam. Experimental and numerical study on single-bolted cold-formed angles under tension and compression, Earthquake Engineering, Frontiers in Built Environment, 2017 (submitted for publication).
